German carrier Lufthansa will be resuming their flights to Nairobi airport after 18 years absence. Kenya Tourism Board has welcomed this decision.
The European carrier will travel four times a week starting from 17 November this year with its Airbus A340 – 300 and by 11 December five times a week.
This flight resumption is to boost Kenya tourism sector, especially for European travels and enhance Nairobi as regional hub within Africa.
Lufthansa, fly from Frankfurt to Nairobi at 1110 hours on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 11 December (Fridays will be included).
Airline will arrive Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi in the evening after 8 hours of non –stop flight. The return flight be take off late in the evening from Nairobi Airport and arrive next day in the morning at Frankfurt airport.
Lufthansa Airlines has expanded travel network to North America, South America and Europe. This latest move offers more opportunity for tourism sector in Africa region.
Travelers not only from Germany will benefit but all over the world flight passengers where Lufthansa travels are to benefit from this Nairobi region. Lufthansa is planning to offer cheap flights to Nairobi for passengers traveling from Frankfurt Airport.
Before this flight connection, passengers relied on partner carrier as Brussels airlines and Swissair to travel to Nairobi as they are code sharing carrier for Lufthansa.
